2024 and beyond….
Weddings are changing. Different and unique trends are really standing out!
Let’s rewind 10 years. Does anyone recall the DJ calling all the single ladies to the dance floor? Or, “yes, that’s right, it is now time for the garter and bouquet ceremony!!” The anticipation of who will catch it and be the “NEXT” one to get married, how fun!! Let’s not forget the beginning of the day all together, when weddings were held in churches across WNY and the newlyweds wouldn’t show up at the reception until introductions. Was it that long ago when the electric slide was popular?? Do we remember the gigantic 30 person wedding parties, enormous head tables and long drawn out introductions??
Fast forward to today, we are not seeing much of the past examples here. Let’s take a look at what couples are doing to make their receptions more streamlined, less uncomfortable and just overall fun!
The Garter & Bouquet: there is nothing like it, well………that’s because it doesn’t happen anymore…..we have been DJing weddings for over 20 years and most of the time we have made our way out to the dance floor to call for all the single people. Let’s not forget, single at a wedding means NOT married!! The last few years it has become an event etched in time, omitted from the party altogether. Some new trends that clients have wanted range from the shoe game, a photo table dash, the anniversary dance, a scavenger hunt or just the bouquet toss, no garter removal! No matter the case, these new trends keep the party going and Energy Entertainment can make them happen!
Ceremonies On-Site: new banquet facilities, such as the popular barn venues, all across WNY provide excellence when it comes to where couples can get married. For example, The Timberlodge at Arrowhead features a giant willow tree right next to the 18th green that is absolutely stunning. Let’s not forget The Sterling at Arrowhead, located off the 9th green where couples can get married ON AN ISLAND!! Spring Lake Winery is another great location where a beautiful lake and wilderness backdrop awaits couples to tying the knot. Next, Graceful Gathering’s at Ledgerock where there is an actual chapel in the middle of the woods - one of the most beautiful new places to get married! These are just a few examples with several more across WNY like The Gallagher Barn that will blow your guests away. Big Wedding Parties are a thing of the past, large head tables…..gone with the wind. Couples across WNY are using introductions to honor the entire wedding party as a whole, announcing them all at once or in groups. Some have just left introductions for the newlyweds and streamlining the entire process. Whatever route you want to take our team is prepared for anything!
